REALTA HQV™ WINS EXCITE AWARD
Custom Retailer Magazine honors flagship video processing technology
San Jose, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2005) – Silicon Optix’s Realta HQV™ video engine is the recipient of an Excite Award, awarded by Custom Retailer Magazine. These awards are given for excellence in custom installed technologies and electronics.
"Silicon Optix's Realta HQV video processing technology has won a substantial following in the industry in a relatively short amount of time," said Bruce Jacobs, Publisher of Custom Retailer. "The buzz and excitement surrounding this technology defines what the EXC!TE Awards are all about."
The Realta video processor DSP chip originates from Teranex’s $60,000 broadcast and postproduction platforms. Teranex’s software algorithms run on Realta’s fully programmable, trillion-operations-per-second video processing engine to deliver a new standard in image quality, a standard Silicon Optix is calling Hollywood Quality Video, or HQV.
The Excite Awards pay tribute to the products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the custom consumer electronics industries. Recipients are selected through consultation among Custom Retailer's editors and contributors, as well as selected retailers and industry observers.
Custom Retailer is produced by the Consumer Technology Publishing Group (CTPG) of North American Publishing Company, which also publishes Dealerscope, Picture Business and E-Gear, as well as custom projects for such organizations as the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the Home Theater Specialists Association (HTSA) and BrandSource.
